Seychelles 4 Days Itinerary

When I think of the Seychelles, all the colors in my mind go electric. The sun reflecting off the turquoise water, green jungles, white sand beaches and fiery sunsets make everything surreal. Its beauty left us speechless.

Why Did We Choose Seychelles?

Each island comes with its own pros and cons. Maldives has got crystal clear turquoise blue water but if you are staying in luxury resort, you will not experience any local culture.

Mauritius offers local culture but then you cannot indulge in island hopping.

This is where Seychelles come in – an archipelago which offers a mix of island hopping, local culture and is also relatively budget friendly.

Best Time To Visit

As the Seychelles islands are blessed with a year-long warm, tropical climate, it’s always a good time to visit them. Having said that, different times of year may be better suited to your particular interests:

  • Hiking – May to October
  • Diving – September to May
  • Fishing – October to April
  • Bird Watching – April to October
  • Snorkeling/Sailing – Year-round
  • Surfing – May to September

We visited in October, as hiking and diving were the main activities we wanted to do.

Seychelles 4 Days Itinerary. Day by Day Breakdown

Day 1. Hiking Adventure In Mahe Island

There are many hiking trails in Mahe Island and you can choose one based on your time availability and fitness level. We love hiking so we chose a little challenging hike – Copolia Trail. The hike to the top is strenuous and rewarding in equal measures. It rained a bit during our hike but coming from Dubai where it rains only a couple of times a year, we don’t mind it at all. The sky was clear by the time we reached but then oh wait clouds covered the breathtaking panorama again.  Well that’s the thing about travelling sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

For the rest of the day we just chilled around the beach at our resort.

Day 2. Water Sports In Mahe Island

Spend a day indulging in some water sports – snorkeling/diving in Seychelles’ gorgeous waters, sailing, jet ski etc. Your hotel will arrange all the water sports. No need to book in advance.

We did scuba diving. Having dived in Maldives and Philippines just a few months back, diving in Seychelles didn’t really impress us much but I think it’s only because the bar was raised too high.

We spent the night indulging in some local fest which was happening just around the corner.

Day 3. A Day Trip To Praslin

Hop on a ferry to get to Praslin. Praslin boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, so make sure to put it in your itinerary. We loved our short time in Praslin.

Things not to miss when in Praslin Island

  • Nature Reserve Vallée de Mai
  • Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve
  • Anse Lazio
  • Grande Anse
  • Anse Volbert

Some of the most gorgeous spots you always find when you speak to locals. “Zimbabwe” – not the country but a place in Praslin Island which took our breath away.

It was gorgeous and shouldn’t be missed.

We were back to Mahe island by the evening.

Day 4. Explore Beaches Of Mahe Island

All the adventure, hiking, diving are bound to leave you exhausted. Spend a relaxed day exploring the beautiful Anse (beaches) of Mahe Island.

Tip – We highly recommend you to rent a car in Seychelles, as taxis can get really expensive.
